ABSTRACT
Prosopis juliflora can grow on various types of soils even under adverse climatic conditions. Non-medicinal use of this plant includes charcoal, firewood, construction wood and animal fodder. Medicinal uses of plant include Alzheimer’s diseases, lepidopteran larval mortality, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant and antiinflammatory activity. Forty-eight compounds had been identified by GC-MS analysis of ethanol extract of roots from P. juliflora like mome-inositol, pyrogallol, cis-vaccenic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, ethyl linoleate, etc. These compounds can be used for management of various disorders.
